My artistic inquiry begins with a sustained observation of what tends to remain at the margins of experience: the minimal, the fragile, the barely perceptible. In Interwoven, that inquiry shifts toward the connections I recognize between my experience of the feminine and certain traits of nature.
The first image arose as a revelation. A human back and a fern, seemingly distant from each other, began to mirror one another. It happened in Guatemala. It was pouring rain that day when I saw hundreds of human-sized ferns bending under the weight of the rain. Where there were ferns, I saw backs. From that experience a new way of looking was born in me: I began to recognize other affinities in nature.
Each piece brings together two photographs conceived as a single field of meaning, where bodies, gestures, and plant forms establish correspondences that don't seek to illustrate one another, but to open a space of resonance. It is in that interstice that the work happens. I'm interested in exploring how perception discovers links where, seemingly, only separate elements exist, revealing a silent weave that runs through the human and the natural.
The images don't propose a closed narrative, but rather function as an invitation to pause the gaze and inhabit that threshold where forms seem to recognize each other. It is there that photography becomes a place of encounter, letting meaning emerge in the experience of whoever observes.
